HORSEPOWER FESTIVAL

In 2017 the desire was born to bring people together in the spirit of cooperation to create something unique, something which would be loved by young and old alike, something which would help regenerate the area and bring new life to the villages. That something was HorsePower 2017.

Dozens of people of all nationalities worked hard through the year to prepare for the festival, and the result was three magical days filled with fun and laughter, blessed by beautiful weather.

Competitors came from all across Bulgaria to take part in the horse endurance races, and enjoyed trying out routes which were both new and challenging.

We had our first cricket match against a team from Sofia (we felt it was polite to let the visiting team win!)

There was an afternoon of fun and games with stalls of all kinds, lots of activities such as welly wanging and tin can alley, competitions such as the pet dog show and the children's fancy dress, and a variety of live music for everyone to enjoy.

As darkness fell the stadium stage was lit up and we were entertained by three great rock bands, including the extremely popular Milena Slavova.

And if that description doesn't tempt you, here are some pictures from that first  year:

2018 was just as amazing, but if you still haven't had the opportunity to see for yourself, fear not, because I'm happy to tell you that preparations for HorsePower 2019 are already underway, so put a great big ring around Saturday 28th September in your diaries.

Visit the festival's Facebook page                               '          for regular updates, and the fundraising page 'Horsepower Festival Fundraising and Events'   where there are details of lots of events to get involved with such as quiz nights, sports events, hikes, themed nights and much much more.  These will also be added to the 'Upcoming Events' section of this website (see under 'Tourism')

As before there will be the horse endurance races running throughout the day so you'll have plenty of opportunities to see these beautiful animals getting ready for their events down at the stadium, or head to one of the many vantage points in the surrounding countryside to see them in action.

In the afternoon the fun and games will continue with lots of stalls, activities, competitions and live music, not to mention delicious foods to try, washed down with a few bevvies, and the festivities will head on late into the night with the rock concert.

HorsePower 2019... it's going to be HOOFTASTIC!
