Arbanassi is a small residential area just north of Veliko Tarnovo with amazing views across the countryside.  The properties here are generally high walled and purported to be very expensive, making it the playground of footballers and ... well, people with dubious incomes.  Hey, I'm only passing on what I've been told! 

Apart from the fancy houses there are lots of nice restaurants though be warned they can get fully booked on high days and holidays.  There is a little tourist information kiosk where you can get a leaflet with a map showing places of interest, one of which is the church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel.  It's a tiny little place but absolutely covered in the most gorgeous frescoes and features a dome only visible on the inside because under Turkish rule they were forbidden (other than on mosques).
